Qatar unveils national patient safety classification framework
It is applied across governmental, semi-governmental and private healthcare facilities.
The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has announced the launch of the ‘Qatar Patient Safety Classification’.
It is designed as a national framework for classifying and analysing patient safety information and clinical practice across healthcare facilities nationwide, according to the MoPH.
The classification also provides shared concepts to support the review of patient safety incidents, as well as the identification of effective and exemplary clinical practices.
In line with this, it forms the scientific basis for the National Learning System for Patient Safety Events and Practice Excellence.
The framework is applied across governmental, semi-governmental and private healthcare facilities.
It is also designed for use by healthcare professionals, quality and patient safety teams, risk management units, health leaders, regulatory bodies, and healthcare decision-makers.
