HKUST begins preparations for new medical school
Global admissions are expected to open by 2027.
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology has started preparations to establish a new medical school.
The university will offer a four-year graduate-entry Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery programme, initially admitting around 50 local and non-local students.
Global admissions will open by 2027 or earlier, with the first cohort set to begin in the 2028/29 academic year or earlier.
Faculty recruitment has drawn interest from 36 senior medical professors in the US, Europe, Singapore, and Australia.
