India’s Sankara Eye Hospital, in partnership with Sankara Eye Foundation, USA, has opened a new super-speciality hospital in Pedakakani, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, with an investment of around $8.5m (₹75 crore).
The new facility, spanning over 2 lakh sq. ft., is designed to serve an additional 1,000 patients daily.
The hospital will operate on a cross-subsidisation model, where fees from paying patients—25% of total beneficiaries—support free surgeries for the remaining 75% of patients.
