NCCS raises $15.9m for cancer research and patient support

This includes a $4.6m (S$6m) gift to expand palliative care capacity.

The National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) has raised $15.9m (S$20.5m) to support cancer research and patient care programmes.

The fundraising included a $4.6m (S$6m) gift from Professor Goh Hak Su to the Cynthia Goh Palliative Care Institute to expand palliative care capacity.

The Verdant Foundation contributed $3.5m (S$4.5m) to strengthen the centre’s in-house AI and machine learning capabilities for cancer drug discovery

In addition, a new research institute was launched with a $1.9m (S$2.5m) donation to initiate population health studies.

Four gifts worth approximately $774,770(S$1m) each were provided to support patient programmes, digital health research, blood cancer and stem cell research, and studies into gastrointestinal and liver cancers.
