Few Thais undergo cancer screening despite awareness: report
Only 10% have taken specific screening tests.
Fewer than half (40%) of people in Thailand have undergone cancer screening, despite 88% recognising the importance of early detection, according to a Siemens Healthineers report.
Amongst the 40%, only 10% have taken specific screening tests.
Fewer respondents are familiar with newer therapies such as precision therapy (17%), immunotherapy (16%) and image-guided approaches (11%), as compared with traditional treatments.
Meanwhile, 46% viewed treatment as accessible, but 50% considered it unaffordable. Concerns about side effects were reported by over half (54%) of participants.
