North Shore Hospital’s one-stop service streamlines hysteroscopy
It combines specialist assessment and diagnostic procedures in one visit.
A new outpatient hysteroscopy service at New Zealand’s North Shore Hospital combines specialist assessment and diagnostic procedure in one visit, said Health Minister Simeon Brown.
The hospital is expected to deliver about 60 outpatient hysteroscopy clinics over the next 12 months, with approximately 240 procedures.
“Previously, women needing a hysteroscopy would attend an initial specialist appointment and then wait weeks to undergo the procedure in theatre under general anaesthetic,” Brown said.
The service follows similar models operating in Auckland, Counties Manukau, and Waikato.
