Philippines to cut power costs in healthcare facilities
This supports a mandated 10% cut in electricity and fuel use across government buildings.
The Philippines' Department of Health (DOH) and Department of Energy (DOE) have signed a memorandum of agreement to help healthcare facilities reduce power costs and adopt sustainable energy solutions.
Under the agreement, the DOE will provide technical assistance, conduct energy audits, and facilitate the installation of energy-efficient equipment.
The agreement supports the “Government Energy Management Program”, which mandates a 10% reduction in electricity and fuel consumption in all government buildings.
The DOH will assign focal persons in each of its health facilities to coordinate with the energy department and ensure timely and effective programme implementation.
