Philippines launches app for maternal and child nutrition monitoring

The app allows local governments to collect data based on key indicators.

The Department of Health (DOH), through the Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project, has launched the Household Convergence Scorecard (HCSC) mobile application to improve health and nutrition for mothers and children within the crucial first 1000 days of life.

The app allows local governments (LGUs) to collect and consolidate data based on the ‘Household Convergence Scorecard’ indicators.

Such indicators include maternal care, infant and young child care, nutrition practices, water and sanitation, household setup, and anthropometric measurements.

The HCSC app also enables LGUs to monitor families and link them to nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive services, such as on-the-spot counselling, infant feeding support, micronutrient supplementation, child growth monitoring, immunisations, and antenatal care.
