Abu Dhabi and Abbott partner to localise pharmaceutical manufacturing

One key area is the development of biosimilars.

The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi has partnered with Abbott to localise the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and advance digital health solutions.

The collaboration will focus on localising existing pharmaceutical products and exploring the development of biosimilars, supported by regulatory alignment.

It also includes the digitisation of life science product information through electronic leaflets, in line with the UAE's digital health strategy.

Additional components of the agreement involve the development of education programmes and joint evaluations of research and development opportunities to support healthcare sustainability.
