Stage one of new Phillip Island Community Hospital opens in Victoria
The new urgent care facility supports after-hours care for non-emergency issues.
Stage one of the new Phillip Island Community Hospital in Victoria is now complete with the opening of its urgent care centre in the new multi-storey building, according to the Australian government.
Managed by Bass Coast Health, it will complement services at the Phillip Island Health Hub by supporting after-hours care for minor, non-emergency issues such as cuts, bruises, mild infections, and suspected fractures.
Meanwhile, the second stage of the project will transform the former site of the urgent care centre and will get underway in the coming weeks.
Once complete, additional services will progressively open to provide chemotherapy, dialysis, dental and day surgery.
