IHH Healthcare North Asia launches AI Lab in Hong Kong
Key areas include remote heart and lung auscultation.
IHH Healthcare North Asia has launched an artificial intelligence laboratory (AI Lab) via Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong to accelerate healthcare innovation.
The organisation runs an integrated network comprising Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong, primary care and specialist clinics, an ambulatory care centre, and laboratory services, in addition to a service network in Shanghai.
Gleneagles, as an affiliate teaching hospital of The University of Hong Kong Health System, has ongoing discussions with the university to explore AI applications.
Key areas include remote heart and lung auscultation, home-use wireless electrocardiogram monitoring, and predictive risk modelling for heart diseases.
The AI Lab is also engaging with other academic institutions, including The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong Baptist University, and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Moreover, the lab will focus on collaborative initiatives with healthtech startups in areas such as AI-powered smart clinic systems, digital triage tools, online pre-check-in, virtual customer service, diagnostic innovations, remote monitoring, and telemedicine platforms.
