Frankston Hospital redevelopment progresses with new helipad

The Australian government in Victoria has announced the completion of the rooftop helipad at Frankston Hospital, part of the $707m (A$1.b) redevelopment project now entering its final year of major construction.

The new helipad enables faster access for emergency patients into the hospital’s 12-storey clinical services tower and supports rapid transfers of critically ill patients to other health services across the state.

Moreover, it is equipped with integrated lighting and firefighting systems, with testing and commissioning scheduled to begin soon.

Once complete, the redeveloped hospital will feature an inpatient services operating theatre suite, new operating theatres, women's and children's services, and cancer services.
