Bataan St. Joseph Hospital & Medical Center Corp hailed at Healthcare Asia Awards 2025

Its health promotion campaign revolves around infection prevention, blood donation awareness, and emergency response symposium.

Healthcare provider Bataan St. Joseph Hospital & Medical Center Corp (BSJHMC) clinched the Education & Training Initiative of the Year - Philippines at the prestigious Healthcare Asia Awards 2025 for its successful launch of a health promotion campaign that represents a solid commitment to improving the health of the residents of Bataan.

This remarkable initiative focusses on infection prevention and control, as it has organised hand hygiene lectures that promote the essential steps in infection control, recognising the need to extend this knowledge to the community.

Additionally, information dissemination on basic cleaning and disinfecting practices has been conducted in the hospital setting, which may also be applied in their own homes. This approach has ensured that the community is equipped with the knowledge to maintain hygiene standards, thereby reducing the risk of infections in both public and private settings.

The campaign also centres on life-saving through blood donations amidst Bataan’s blood scarcity. BSJHMC has initiated a blood donation campaign, emphasising the critical need for donors. Community lectures have raised awareness about the importance of blood donation, reaching out to citizens and encouraging participation.

Meanwhile, to tackle the province's ongoing challenges in stroke and myocardial infarction (MI) management, BSJHMC has organised a symposium that brought together emergency medical technicians (EMTs), emergency room personnel, and first responders. The symposium features practical lecture sessions, case studies, and discussions on the latest techniques in managing cardiac and neurological events.

This event aimed to enhance their understanding of first aid and treatment protocols for MI and stroke, which are amongst the common health emergencies in the area.

“BSJHMC’s health promotion initiative exemplifies a proactive approach to addressing healthcare challenges in a rapidly developing province. By focussing on infection prevention, blood donation awareness, and emergency response training, BSJHMC is not only enhancing healthcare services but also fostering a culture of health literacy within the community,” the company stated.
