Medi Linx Laboratory wins at Healthcare Asia Awards 2025 for laboratory management service

HLM aims to enhance healthcare institutions' productivity without burdening them with excessive costs or manpower strain.

Medi Linx Laboratory took home the Laboratory Initiative of the Year - Philippines accolade at the coveted Healthcare Asia Awards 2025 for its Hospital Laboratory Management (HLM) service that has revolutionised the operational efficiency of medical institutions across the country and has set new benchmarks in laboratory operations.

HLM offers a comprehensive approach, optimising not only laboratory operations but also enhancing medical teams, equipment, space design and efficiency and information systems. This control of daily operations alleviates partner hospitals from administrative challenges, allowing them to focus on improving patient care.

Prior to Medi Linx’s involvement, many of its partner hospitals have not consistently monitored either their turnaround time (TAT) or critical results. Delays in these parameters can result in treatment delays and missed medical opportunities.

TAT refers to the time it takes from specimen collection to result delivery, whilst critical results notification refers to the process of promptly alerting healthcare providers about laboratory findings that require immediate medical attention.

With HLM, the facilities have improved their TAT and critical results notification by achieving a 95% success rate in meeting targets for routine, STAT, and emergency procedures. Timely test results are vital, especially in urgent cases where prompt decision-making can be life-saving.

The management platform has also demonstrated significant impact, standardising services and improving the quality of clinical laboratory operations across its partner hospitals. This has resulted in at least 50% increase in the number of procedures, an impressive resolution of 90% of operation-related gaps within the first four months of service, and better monitoring of key performance indicators.

“Medi Linx’s HLM service is highly flexible, tailored to each hospital’s specific needs. Whether it is optimising laboratory layouts, streamlining workflows, or implementing a more efficient information system, Medi Linx customises its approach to address the unique challenges of each hospital. Regular monitoring of key metrics such as TAT, critical results, and quality assurance ensures ongoing improvement,” the company said.

Healthcare Asia Awards honours exceptional hospitals across the region that have redefined the standards of excellence in the industry through their innovative solutions and substantial contributions to communities.
