Amrita Hospital unveils telemedicine project for tribal communities

India’s Amrita Hospital has launched the ‘Samashwasam' telemedicine project to improve healthcare access for tribal communities.
The initiative focuses on identifying and treating chronic respiratory diseases, along with detecting and managing tuberculosis recurrence.
It will also provide tele-pulmonary rehabilitation and offer tobacco cessation counseling in remote tribal areas across the state.
The project was initially implemented in Valliyoorkkavu, Wayanad district.
