RS Pondok Indah Group honoured at Healthcare Asia Awards 2025 for world-class healthcare services

Innovations it has developed allow the hospital to provide more precise, effective, and personalised service to every patient.

RS Pondok Indah Group was recognised at the coveted Healthcare Asia Awards 2025 for its major achievements in the past year, consistently adapting to advancements in medical technology and patient needs — upgrading facilities, enhancing digital systems, and continuously improving the skills of medical professionals.

Some of its key initiatives include opening a new hospital branch in a strategic, easily accessible area of Jakarta, establishing a new centre of excellence at RS Pondok Indah – Bintaro Jaya, expanding diagnostic services at RS Pondok Indah – Pondok Indah, adding more operating rooms at RS Pondok Indah – Puri Indah, introducing the convenience of scheduling doctor appointments online, and enhancing digital hospital information systems for improved efficiency.

Moreover, it continues to invest in developing its employees through certification programmes, technology and clinical workshops, and advanced degrees. It has also deployed mentorship programmes and knowledge sharing amongst departments and hospitals.

The hospital has also highlighted its use of advanced medical technology, a significant factor in more accurate and faster patient services.

“We genuinely believe that the digitisation process has enhanced our patient journey, quality of care, and patient safety, enabling us to access actionable data, streamline operations, and improve our business decision-making and strategic planning processes,” said Dr Yanwar Hadiyanto, MARS, the CEO of RS Pondok Indah Group.

In the community, RS Pondok Indah Group has focussed on healthcare education, covering topics ranging from healthcare prevention and promotional education, as well as treatment options. They leverage digital channels and social media to engage a larger audience and provide them with trustworthy information.

Additionally, it provides platforms for patients and the wider community to share their feedback and ensure that their needs and voices are heard. This approach helps the hospital to build trust and shape the service offering to meet patient expectations.

RS Pondok Indah Group has been honoured as the Hospital of the Year - Indonesia for these major breakthroughs.

Transforming patient care with advanced diagnostics

The hospital has taken pride in several of its services that highlight state-of-the-art technology and cutting-edge innovations.

Amongst these is its CT Scan 512 Slice with Artificial Intelligence (AI). This technology offers unique advantages, such as quick scanning within a single heartbeat, higher resolution imaging, extensive slice coverage, stable image quality, and AI technology automation for patient and heart positioning.

Another technology is its MRI 3 Tesla Skyra, wherein high-field MRI machines are used with strengths of one to three Tesla.

Meanwhile, the RS Pondok Indah – Puri Indah facility has adopted Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) and Orbital Atherectomy, which have significantly enhanced the precision and safety of coronary artery disease treatments. These cutting-edge tools are crucial in percutaneous coronary interventions, especially for tackling challenging, calcified plaques in the arteries.

Its IVUS AVVIGO system offers exceptional features, such as automatic measurements and high-definition images that allow specialists to view the inside of the arteries in great detail—without the need for contrast dye. This technology minimises risks and provides a safer experience for patients.

When it comes to treating severely calcified lesions, the hospital’s Orbital Atherectomy System (OAS) stands out as the only FDA-approved device specifically designed for this purpose. It smoothly sands down hard plaques, making space for stent placement whilst minimising heat generation, which reduces risks like artery damage. The system’s ability to allow continuous blood flow during treatment ensures the safety and efficiency of the procedure.

There is also Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) adopted at RS Pondok Indah – Pondok Indah. OCT is an advanced diagnostic imaging technology that uses infrared light and fiber optics to create detailed images of the heart's arteries. OCT is crucial in Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI), providing doctors with a precise view of coronary artery conditions during catheterisation.

With OCT, interventional cardiologist doctors can assess the inside of blood vessels, clearly identifying types of plaque such as calcium, fibrous tissue, fat, or a mix of all three. This helps doctors accurately choose the right stent size and ensure the procedure is optimal. OCT also allows for immediate evaluation of stent placement, ensuring it’s perfectly positioned and expanded.

RS Pondok Indah Group also features its Robotic Prostate Biopsy capability, indicated for patients with high prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels, abnormal findings from rectal examination, prostate cancer under active surveillance, and patients who have a history of conventional prostate biopsy with benign results but persistently high PSA levels.

The group also underscores its commitment to providing faster and more accurate results through advanced Total Laboratory Automation (TLA). TLA automates every step of the testing process from sample preparation to analysis, improving efficiency and accuracy across biochemistry and immunology tests.

These advanced diagnostic machines and capabilities have earned RS Pondok Indah Group the Diagnostics Provider of the Year - Indonesia title.

Technology driven by expertise

With the remarkable milestones of RS Pondok Indah Group in advancing healthcare, it is evident that technology plays a key role in advancing how people understand, diagnose, and treat various health conditions.

The hospital takes pride in its Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring to minimise the risk of nerve damage during surgery. This advanced technique is particularly valuable in procedures involving the nervous system, such as neurosurgery and spinal surgery.

Meanwhile, complex brain and spinal surgeries require exceptional accuracy. With the ZEISS KINEVO 900 S, its surgeons benefit from state-of-the-art 4K 3D imaging technology, which enhances the visualisation of intricate structures and ensures precise and effective interventions across complex surgeries. This tool supports various procedures, including brain tumour removal, spinal repairs, and breast reconstruction, amongst others.

RS Pondok Indah Group also offers Vertebral Body Tethering (VBT) for children and teenagers with scoliosis — an innovative approach that maintains spinal flexibility whilst correcting abnormal curvature. It is particularly effective for those still in their growth phase, where using a brace alone is insufficient to prevent the progression of scoliosis.

The company notes that all the advanced techniques and medical technologies it adopts reflect its commitment to providing leading healthcare services in Indonesia. However, behind all these advancements, one thing remains central: a holistic approach to patient care.

“Human touch is the essence of every interaction we have with our patients. The combination of medical expertise, cutting-edge technology, and empathy is what drives us to deliver the best healthcare possible,” Yanwar said.

RS Pondok Indah Group took home the Service Innovation of the Year - Indonesia category win for these top-notch, technology-driven healthcare services.
