The Australian government has invested $7.2m (A$11.3m) in a virtual counselling service aimed at expanding medical support for women and girls in regional and rural Queensland.

The Women’s Wellbeing Line provides services such as health referrals, mental healthcare, counselling, and pregnancy loss advice.

The service offers telephone and web chat support, with plans to introduce face-to-face video conferencing underway.
