Midwifery Group Practice expanded in Illawarra and Shoalhaven

The Wollongong MGP service now has an additional team of five midwives.

Australia’s Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District has expanded its Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) model, increasing access to continuity of midwifery care for women and families in New South Wales.

The Wollongong MGP service has now been expanded with an additional team of five midwives.

Each midwife can provide care for up to 35 women annually throughout pregnancy, labour, birth, and the early postpartum period.
