Australia allocates $268.9m to health and medical research

The Australian government has announced a $268.9m (A$422m) investment in the health and medical research sector through the National Health and Medical Research Council's ‘Investigator Grants’ scheme.
The grants will support investigator-led research aimed at advancing knowledge in human health, improving healthcare outcomes, and contributing to economic growth.
A total of 229 ‘high-performing’ researchers across various career stages will receive funding under the scheme.
