Australia invests $1.07b in public hospitals and health services
The Commonwealth’s contribution to state-run public hospitals will total $21.3b (A$33.91b).
The Australian government is set to invest an additional $1.07b (A$1.7b) to fund public hospitals and health services in 2025-26.
Under a new agreement between the federal government and all state and territory governments, the Commonwealth’s contribution to state-run public hospitals will rise by 12 per cent, reaching a total of $21.3b (A$33.91b).
The funding will be delivered to states and territories to help cut waiting lists, reduce emergency room waiting times, and manage ramping.
