AC Health medical facilities to shift to renewable energy

Six facilities will be powered by wind, solar, and geothermal sources.

Ayala’s AC Health, through the Healthway Medical Network, is set to make a shift to clean energy sources through the transition of its medical facilities to renewables.

In a regulatory filing, ACEN said this will be under a partnership with ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions that will help power six Healthway Medical Network facilities with wind, solar, and geothermal energy sources.

Healthway QualiMed Hospital Santa Rosa, Healthway QualiMed Manila, and Healthway Cancer Care Hospital are amongst the first facilities to transition to renewable energy. Other facilities included in this initiative are Healthway QualiMed Hospital San Jose Del Monte (Bulacan), Healthway Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center, and FEU-NRMF Medical Center in Quezon City.

AC Health's transition to renewable energy is estimated to reduce carbon emissions by 68,360 tonnes over the contract period. This is equivalent to the carbon sequestration of approximately 3.1 million trees in a year.

“By powering AC Health’s facilities with clean energy, we are reducing their environmental impact whilst supporting their mission of improving health outcomes. This collaboration reinforces our shared vision of creating a more sustainable future for the country,” said Eric Francia, president and CEO of ACEN.
