Australian AI healthcare startup amasses $6.3m raise for GP support

The capital will be used to enhance Heidi’s AI service for increased GP capacity.

Australia-based AI health platform Heidi Health completed US$6.3m (A$10m) in Series A capital to expand its general practitioner (GP) capacity and new artificial intelligence (AI) offerings.

The capital will be used for expanding Heidi Health’s team of doctors, designers, and engineers, and increasing the number of clinics and GPs using the software in Australia and later in global markets.

The investment came at a time when Australia is predicted to be short 10,600 GPs, despite a 58% demand for services for the next 10 years.

With the investment, Medtech Heidi works to advance its automated services, giving more control and transparency to patients and assisting doctors, designers and engineers. It will also set for expansion, bringing its software to more clinics and GPs around Australia and other global markets.

“We are using AI to automate the administrative components of care and better orchestrate our clinician resources with our patient population. That endorsement from the industry is humbling, and provides validation for our technology and vision,” Dr. Thomas Kelly, founder and CEO of Heidi Health, said.
