What’s driving demand in global hysterometer market?

The aging population is fueling demand for hysterometers.

The global hysterometer market is projected to grow by $0.01m from 2024 to 2028, at a CAGR of 4.5%, according to Technavio.

This growth is largely driven by the increasing prevalence of gynecological diseases and the rising number of older women, particularly those suffering from pelvic organ prolapse (POP).

The aging population, especially women over 60, is fueling demand for hysterometers. These medical devices are essential for measuring uterine size and cervical canal depth, particularly during intrauterine device (IUD) procedures. As awareness of women’s health grows, the market for advanced diagnostic tools like wireless and disposable hysterometers is expanding.

"Elderly patients with POP require careful consideration when it comes to treatment, as lifestyle concerns, comorbidities, and personal preferences play a significant role in the decision-making process," the report noted.

However, the market faces challenges, including the risk of uterine perforation and other complications during procedures.

Additionally, infection control and the need for precise uterine measurements in gynecological clinics also pose obstacles.
