The tech allowed for shorter operative time and reduced brain trauma.
Vinmec Central Park International Hospital has performed stereo-electroencephalography surgery on a 9-year-old boy with drug-resistant epilepsy, using the AutoGuide robotic guidance system.
According to the hospital, the system ensured high accuracy, shorter operative time, and reduced brain trauma.
The patient from Hanoi began having seizures in 2021, with no improvement despite multiple treatments locally and overseas.
The patient resumed normal activities and play after just over a month of recovery, with only two minor nocturnal seizures recorded—representing a reduction of over 95% compared to the preoperative frequency.
