UAE’s healthcare ecosystem to be valued at $50b by FY2029
The private sector is expected to outpace government spending.
The UAE healthcare ecosystem, valued at $34b in FY2024, is projected to rise at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of approximately 8% to reach $50b by FY2029.
A Praxis Global Alliance report revealed that its expansion is attributed to increased life expectancy, a high prevalence of non-communicable diseases, and the UAE's growing medical tourism industry.
Meanwhile, the private sector is expected to grow at 9.5% CAGR, outpacing government healthcare spending which stands at 3.4% GDP, lower than the global average of 6.5%.
Treatment costs in the UAE for procedures such as heart bypass, knee replacement, and mental health therapy are considerably higher than in countries like Poland, Malaysia, and India.
“This cost disparity is driving many UAE patients to seek medical care abroad, where similar treatments are available at much lower prices,” Praxis Global Alliance said.
