Singapore launches online tool for advance care planning
It guides users through documenting their care preferences for end-of-life situations.
Singapore’s Ministry of Health has announced the launch of “myACP”, a digital tool that allows individuals to create their advanced care plans online.
The service is available to individuals aged 21 and above who do not have serious medical conditions such as cancer or dementia.
The tool guides users through documenting their care preferences for end-of-life situations, covering areas like medical treatment approaches, daily care needs, and personal preferences related to hygiene, companionship, and religious practices.
Users can appoint up to two Nominated Healthcare Spokespersons who will convey their care preferences if they are unable to speak for themselves in the future.
The platform also enables individuals to indicate their priorities between comfort-focused care and life-sustaining treatments.
The service is free and allows users to complete the process without the need for a trained facilitator.
