A new rooftop helipad will be constructed as part of the $506.1m (A$780m) New Shellharbour Hospital and Integrated Services Project in New South Wales, according to the Australian government.
The helipad will support rapid transfers of patients requiring critical care.
Construction is expected to start soon, in coordination with other works currently taking place on site.
Meanwhile, construction is progressing on the new building, with concrete pours underway and key structural elements of the hospital set to take shape in the coming months.
The project is expected to be completed in 2027.
