Qatar, Generation Amazing Foundation partner for health and development
They will jointly launch the ‘Qatar Healthy Cities: Sports for Health and Development’ programme.
The Ministry of Public Health in Qatar has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Generation Amazing Foundation to launch the joint programme ‘Qatar Healthy Cities: Sports for Health and Development’.
The MoU aims to address public health challenges, including non-communicable diseases, mental health issues, and social inclusion through sports initiatives.
The programme also aligns with the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to increase physical activity levels by 15%. The target will serve as a global benchmark for WHO Healthy Cities, with plans for broader implementation following a pilot phase.
The agreement was signed by Salih Ali Al Marri, Assistant Minister for Health Affairs, on behalf of the Ministry, and Nasser Al Khori, Executive Director of the Generation Amazing Foundation.
