Philippines’ private hospital network secures 60% stake in Lucena United Doctors

The acquisition was completed after launching a tender offer for the 39.12% stake.

Metro Pacific Health Corporation (MPH), the Philippines’ leading private hospital network, acquired a 60.88% stake in Lucena United Doctors, Inc. (LUDI), which manages Lucena United Doctors Hospital and Medical Center (LUDHMC).

The acquisition was completed after LUDI and other stakeholders launched a Tender Offer for the balance 39.12% stake.
 
LUDHMC is a Level 2 and 95-bed hospital that has been serving the healthcare needs of Lucena, and neighbouring towns and municipalities of the Quezon Province. 

MPH Corporate Development Director Jose Noel C. de la Paz said their investment in LUDI has been in discussion for almost a decade, adding that they are looking at expanding LUDHMC and upgrading its medical capacities.
