OUE Healthcare updates on Pun Hlaing Hospitals after Myanmar earthquake
The Mandalay facility sustained physical damage and has suspended operations.
OUE Healthcare Limited has issued an update on Pun Hlaing Hospitals, which operates facilities in Yangon, Mandalay, and Taunggyi, following the 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar on 28 March.
Following a preliminary inspection, the hospitals’ management confirmed that the Mandalay facility sustained physical damage and has suspended operations.
Meanwhile, the Yangon and Taunggyi hospitals remain largely unaffected, although operations in these hospitals have been affected by electricity shortages.
“With the extensive damage caused in Mandalay and communications in the aftermath of the earthquake severely hampered, the full extent of the impact on the Group can only be ascertained after more detailed assessments,” the company said.
No casualties have been reported amongst staff or patients to date.
