One out of 20 healthcare firms in APAC face attempted ransomware attacks
Worldwide, one out of every 34 healthcare firms experienced an attempted attack.
Healthcare firms in the Asia Pacific region are facing another health scare with one out of 20 firms facing attempted ransomware attacks, according to a report from McGallen & Bolden.
Compared to all regions, all organisations in Asia and the Pacific region saw a substantial 15% yearly 2023 increase in the average number of weekly cyber attacks.
On average, APAC firms face an average of 1,963 attacks every week.
Some of the reasons why this health scare is prevalent are due to rich data troves, critical infrastructure, IoT danger, vulnerabilities in legacy systems, limited IT resources, and supply chain woes, amongst others.
Amongst the solutions are cyber security training to combat phishing emails, up-to-date patches, and data backup.
