AIG Hospitals leverages ‘HemoPill’ for real-time GI bleed detection

The non-invasive capsule wirelessly transmits data to clinicians.

India’s AIG Hospitals has utilised HemoPill, a telemetric capsule designed to detect active gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding in real-time.

The non-invasive capsule is swallowed by the patient and wirelessly transmits data to clinicians.

In its initial use at the hospital, the pill detected an active GI bleed, which was subsequently managed with an endoscopic clip procedure.
