SGH develops AI chatbot to support perioperative assessments

It allows doctors to input patient information from electronic health records.

Singapore General Hospital has developed the "PErioperative AI Chatbot" (PEACH) to assist in perioperative planning.

The system allows doctors to input patient information from electronic health records into the chatbot, which can perform various tasks.

These tasks include answering anaesthesia-related questions, drafting referral letters and patient instructions, summarising key anaesthesia considerations, and generating perioperative care plans.

In addition, PEACH can triage pre-surgery patients by recommending whether assessments should be done through phone, in-person at the Pre-Admission Centre, or on the day of surgery.
