New Tara Hospital opens in Queensland, Australia

It replaces the 60-year-old facility.

The Australian government has announced the opening of the new Tara Hospital in Queensland, replacing the ageing 60-year-old facility.

The new hospital features 12 inpatient beds, an expanded emergency department, specialist outpatient services, and improved digital connectivity.

It also includes larger emergency treatment areas, single inpatient rooms, and an upgraded palliative care space.

Meanwhile, planning has begun for a $3.4m (A$5.4m) staff accommodation project, which will include modern one-bedroom units with private bathrooms, kitchens, and living areas.

The modular units will be constructed offsite and installed at the site of the old hospital.
