New Medicare Urgent Care Clinic opens in Southport, Australia
The facility offers care for non-life-threatening conditions such as cuts and infections.
The Australian government has unveiled a new Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (UCC) at the Southport Medical and Dental Centre.
The clinic will operate seven days a week, offering care for non-life-threatening conditions such as cuts, infections, and sprains, to alleviate pressure on the Gold Coast University Hospital.
Since its launch a year ago, the Gold Coast Medicare UCC has recorded nearly 10,000 presentations, with approximately half of those patients indicating they would have otherwise sought care at the emergency department.
