New Medicare Urgent Care Clinic opens in East Adelaide, South Australia

It is intended to ease pressure on the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

A new Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (UCC) has opened in East Adelaide, according to the Australian Government.

The Norwood Medicare Urgent Care Clinic is intended to ease pressure on the Royal Adelaide Hospital, where about a quarter (25%) of presentations in 2023-24 were for semi-urgent or non-urgent conditions.

The clinic will join the existing network of six UCCs across South Australia, with a further two to be established across the state.

Patients can attend on a walk-in basis, with no appointment required, and all services are bulk billed, the government said.

The facility is commissioned by the Adelaide Primary Health Network.
