
New children’s hospice to open at Westmead hospital
It will connect with existing services, including oncology, neurology, and intensive care.
A new hospice will be built within The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, providing palliative care for young patients with life-limiting illnesses.
The new facility, Mounties Care Cottage, will be the second children’s hospice in New South Wales. It will offer services such as symptom management, end-of-life care, and short-term respite.
In addition, the hospice will connect with existing hospital health services, including oncology, neurology, and intensive care
It will also include amenities such as a kitchen, dining area, and direct access to surrounding gardens and play spaces.
