The Medical City unveils expanded emergency care unit
Patients are kept updated through a digital queueing system
The Medical City (TMC) in the Philippines has announced the launch of its expanded emergency care unit.
The moment the patient arrives at the emergency room (ER), a doctor triages them and provides immediate clinical assessment to determine the case’s urgency, according to TMC.

Cases requiring prompt but non-critical attention are treated in the “Urgent Care Area”. Meanwhile, patients in life-threatening situations are treated in the “Emergent Area”.
The unit also includes a trauma room for patients with serious physical injuries and an isolation room designed for cases that require infection control protocols.
The hospital also features a “Mental Health High Dependency Secure Area” in the ER for patients experiencing psychological distress.
