Manipal Hospitals leverages AI-driven wireless pacemaker for cardiac care

India’s Manipal Hospitals has announced its use of the Abbott-developed Aveir Leadless pacemaker for cardiac procedures.
The wireless injectible pacemaker utilises nanotechnology to stay securely in the heart and has an estimated lifespan of up to 25 years.
Meanwhile, the device’s non-magnetic design ensures compatibility with MRI machines, airport scanners, and high-voltage environments.
It also features Bluetooth technology for remote monitoring and adjustments.
The device was implanted in a 65-year-old woman at Manipal Hospital, Dhakuria, and later in two additional patients at Medica Superspecialty Hospital and Manipal Hospital, Mukundapur.
