India’s dialysis machines market to hit $14m in 2033

The sector currently accounts for approximately 3% of the Asia Pacific market.

India's dialysis machines market is projected to reach $14m by 2033, driven by the prevalence and burden of chronic kidney disorders, said GlobalData.

The country’s sector currently accounts for approximately 3% of the Asia Pacific market with most machines being imported, contributing to higher costs.

In a notable development, Nephro Care India Limited, in collaboration with the National Institute of Technology, Silchar, is developing a prototype of a remotely monitored, AI-enabled machine, aiming to reduce costs by nearly 75% to around $2,368.5 (INR 200,000).

Meanwhile, GlobalData’s medical devices analyst, Shreya Jain, said that whilst the availability of haemodialysis machines has improved, challenges in access, affordability, and quality of care remain.

“Local production support and infrastructure could help manufacturers tailor machines to India’s needs and reduce maintenance expenses, making dialysis more affordable and accessible,” the analyst said.
