India’s DHR-ICMR unveils 2024-29 action plan for Viksit Bharat
One of its key areas includes the promotion of indigenous and affordable health technologies.
The Department of Health Research (DHR) -Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) announced the DHR-ICMR 2024-29 Action Plan for Viksit Bharat, a five-year strategy to transform India’s healthcare sector.
The plan targets key areas, including the promotion of indigenous and affordable health technologies.
It also provides solutions to resistant health problems such as anaemia, antimicrobial resistance, non-communicable diseases, child malnutrition, and the health impacts of climate change.
In addition, the plan focuses on the advancement of digital health solutions. It will also enhance technology-driven surveillance and accelerate the development of medical countermeasures.
