IHH Healthcare Malaysia initiative drives solar power use across its network
The solar power deployment across its hospitals will be completed by 2025.
IHH Healthcare Malaysia has launched a comprehensive renewable energy initiative focused on installing solar panels across its entire network.
The initiative, in partnership with Ditrolic Energy, is in line with Malaysia’s goal of reducing fossil fuels and contributing to global initiatives against climate change.
“We acknowledge that energy consumption is our largest source of direct greenhouse gas emissions, accounting for over 75% of our carbon footprint.” Jean-François Naa, Chief Executive Officer of IHH Healthcare Malaysia, said.
“With the installation of solar panels across our network of hospitals encompassing Gleneagles Hospitals, Pantai Hospitals, Prince Court Medical Centre and Timberland Medical Centre, we are able to transition to renewable energy and reduce our greenhouse gas emissions,” Naa added.
Currently, IHH Healthcare has eight hospitals running on solar power.
