Healthcare organisations risk data loss amidst ransomware attacks
Sensitive data records grew by over 63% in 2023.
About one-fifth of sensitive data from healthcare organisations is lost in each ransomware attack, according to a report by Rubrik Zero Labs.
The report revealed that the industry has continued to be a prime target for ransomware hackers based on recent cyber incidents, impacting almost five times more data than the global average.
“With the surge in digital service delivery and cloud adoption, the region faces escalating cyber threats, posing significant risks to sensitive data, especially in healthcare where vast amounts of information are handled.” Abhilash Purushothaman, Vice President & General Manager of Asia at Rubrik, said.
