Health spending in developed markets to remain elevated in 2025
Key drivers include infrastructure investments, digital technologies, and higher wages.
Health expenditure growth in developed markets is projected to remain elevated in 2025, with most economies expected to rise by 4-6%, slightly surpassing the pre-pandemic historical trend.
Key drivers behind this growth include investments in health infrastructure, digital health technologies, and higher wages for medical professionals, a BMI report revealed.
“Compared to 2024, there is a reduced but still present focus on addressing waiting times and preparations for the next pandemic,” the report said.
Despite widespread government cost-control measures, the outlook for healthcare service providers, including pharmaceutical companies and medical device firms, remains moderately positive.
