Challenges raised include long wait times and affordability.

Singaporeans above 40 years old expressed the desire for centralised platform access, with 53% seeking more integration and convenience in healthcare.

HMI Medical’s Health Usage and Attitude (U&A) Survey revealed that 53% of residents prefer receiving referrals tailored to their personal needs and partnering with public and private healthcare institutions for seamless referrals.

Respondents across age groups felt a lack of control over what actions to take (28%), were overwhelmed by the healthcare system’s complexity (23%), and were uncertain about which provider to choose (23%).

Other challenges raised include systemic issues, such as long wait times (55%) and affordability (48%).

Meanwhile, almost half (49%) of residents reported to have gone for a standard health checkup and screenings in the past 12 months.
