Gold Coast Health trials virtual scribe in outpatient departments
Over 70 medical specialists will participate in the trial’s first stage.
Australia’s Gold Coast Health has launched a clinical trial for an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven virtual scribe in its outpatient departments.
In partnership with Lyrebird Health, the group will validate the technology’s ability to automate note-taking and produce several clinical document types.
Over 70 of the group’s medical specialists are set to participate in the first stage of the 16-week trial, which will utilise mixed methods to evaluate the solution.
According to Sandip Kumar, Gold Coast Health’s executive director of strategy, transformation, and major capital, this initiative aims to save clinicians critical time, enabling them to focus on patients rather than documentation.
