China’s healthcare sector raises $10.6b through equity offerings

Strong activity is expected to continue in the second half.

China’s healthcare sector has so far raised $10.6b this year through equity capital market (ECM) deals, according to Dealogic data.

The amount surpasses the combined total raised between 2022 and 2024.

There has been record activity in China’s healthcare ECM in recent months, covering block trades, follow-on offerings, and IPOs. Strong activity is expected to continue in the second half, said Citi.

“Issuers will continue to tap into that strong demand to raise financing to support their growth,” said Ling Zhang, Citi’s Hong Kong-based Head of Healthcare Investment Banking, Asia North & Australia and Asia South.
