China thrives in smart operating rooms: report

China is becoming a central hub for medical interventions.

With digital transformation reshaping healthcare, China stands in a crucial direction with its smart operating rooms, said L.E.K. Consulting.

In its white paper, the firm said "Smart operating rooms are recognized for their effectiveness, safety, convenience, and intelligence and they are gradually becoming integral components of modern hospitals and intelligent healthcare."

"Whilst the demand for smart operating rooms is growing, their development is still in the exploratory stage," read the report.

For instance, the Shanghai Digital Medicine Innovation Center established with the approval of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and guided by the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission, serves as an institutional platform within the affiliated Ruijin Hospital of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.
