Bumrungrad to open $136.8m luxury hospital in Phuket by 2027
Its first phase is scheduled to begin in mid-2027.
Bumrungrad International Hospital is investing $136.8m (THB4.3b) to develop a ‘luxury secondary care’ facility in Phuket, Thailand.
Bumrungrad International Hospital Phuket will open with 120 beds in its first phase, eventually expanding to 212 beds.
Its first phase is scheduled to begin in mid-2027.
The facility will operate on a ‘Hub and Spoke’ model, where patients with highly complex conditions requiring advanced surgery will be transferred to the main hospital in Bangkok.
Phuket’s robust economy and premium demographics make it the ideal location for this strategic investment, said Napas Paorohitya, chief marketing officer of Bumrungrad International Hospital.
Phuket’s market is supported by around 400,000 residents with high purchasing power and an international community of 115,000 expatriates, representing 27% of the population, Paorohitya added.
