Australian gov’t unveils design for Grafton Base Hospital upgrade
The design integrates new and existing campus facilities.
The Australian government has unveiled the latest designs for the $171.1m (A$263.8m) Grafton Base Hospital redevelopment in New South Wales.
The design integrates new and existing campus facilities, featuring a new three-storey building that will house the emergency department, short-stay unit, medical imaging and MRI services, and an inpatient unit.
The new building will provide a space for maternity services to be relocated in the future, along with identifying zones for further development.
Meanwhile, the day surgery and operating suite will also be expanded.
Construction timeframes will be confirmed once planning is finalised and a main works builder is appointed
Clinical services will remain on the existing hospital site.
